1.    Request digital content according to your own specifications, your own needs and most of all, your own imagination.

2.    Create direct markets between Users and digital Content Producers.

3.    Content Producers get paid directly for meeting the User Requests.

4.    Demand custom digital content for Video, Audio and Imagery.

5.    Choose between four different Request types: Public, Private, Group or Charity.

6.    Throw in no less than $2 to start your Request and entice a content producer to create what you want.

7.    Contribute to and join a fellow users Request and harness your buying power.

8.    Get your money back if your Request is not met. (see terms and conditions)

9.    Sell your digital content whether it is Video, Audio or Imagery

10.    Choose between three different selling tools: Free Will, Collaborative Reserve or Highest Bid. This allows you to maximize your market potential.

11.    Content Producers can also search Search the request list and earn extra dollars by answering a Users Request.

A Quick Primer –

There are two sides to GoNogging, the Request side and the Sell side. The Request side has three
possible participants:

The Request Creator – This person is the user that comes up with the idea or request, fills out the necessary information and kicks off the market with an initial deposit into the “Request Pool”

Contributors – This person is the user that reads a request and is interested in joining it. They want the same thing as the request creator, so they join the request by depositing some money in the “Request Pool” for that particular request

Producer – This user reads about the request, sees the amount of money waiting for him in the “Request Pool” and decides to create whatever the request is!

On the Sell Side of GoNogging there are just two participants, the Seller and the Buyer(s)
Seller - Sellers on GoNogging have a variety of ways to sell their digital content. Sure they can sell directly, but the can also take advantage of some new selling strategies, which you can read more about below.

Buyer – Buyer(s) on GoNogging have the ability to participate in these different types of markets which will allow the buyer to have the best possible buying leverage.

Quick Start Guide

Do you have a digital camcorder that captures in Digital8, MiniDV, HDV, or any of the DVD formats?
Good! Then you are ready to GoNogging!

Follow these easy steps to get your short video online and start teaching

1. Your camcorder will need some kind of direct connection to your computer either to the USB or FireWire ports or by inserting the DVD you've recorded.

2. Once you've downloaded the video from the camera, you can upload it to GoNogging or, if you are able to, edit and play with it some more!

Do you have an analog camcorder that uses VHS, VHS-C, SVHS-C, 8mm, or Hi8 tape?
Good!  We can still get your videos onto GoNogging. Just a few extra steps and some additional equipment and you'll be on your way.

Now since these camcorders are not usually equipped with computer connections you will need to digitize the video with a converter box, which will convert the analog signal from the camcorder to a digital signal that the computer can understand. After the video has been digitized, you can manipulate it further and upload it. Come on now it's not that hard to do. I bet that techie neighbor of yours can help you out. Or ask your local computer store to lead you in the right direction.

Step by Step Suggestions:
(Remember these are general instructions; please refer to your cameras owner's manual for specific instructions).

1. Plan your video

You don't need a full script, but you should have an idea about what you want to teach and the general flow. Depending on the extent of your video you might want to do what the pros do: create a cue card. Get a large piece of poster board at your local office or school supply store and with a larger marker write out a numbered list of the points you want to make. You can then place or tape this cue card next to the camera as you're filming.

2. Set the stage

Pick the best place to film your video and make sure that it is clear of anything that might be too distracting to the viewer. Usually it is best NOT to shoot in front of any windows, as this will cause some difficult lighting.

3. Lighting

Light is your camera's best friend! The more light you can shine on you and your subject will really improve your videos and make them better for your viewers. Experiment to find the best lighting for your videos. You don't have to go out and buy professional lighting. Make sure your lights are on and positioned away from the camera lens. Bring over an extra lamp or two to make sure everything is well lit.

4. Shoot your video

The best videos are short and to the point. Keeping it short will focus your audience's attention and make your point come across more powerfully. If you have a complicated subject that will take more than 5 minutes to explain and demonstrate, think about breaking your video down into segments just like the pros do! Several shorter video segments are much better than one long extended video.

5. Edit your video

Connect your camcorder to your computer in the usual way and upload your new video onto your computer. Most camcorders come with some sort of editing software. If your camcorder does not come with any editing software, check out the Gonogging support section to find some editing software that is right for you. Modify your video as you see fit. Cut out the parts you don't like and add some titles or other info that descibes your video to the public.

6. Produce your video!

Almost all video editing software has an option to produce your video, which will allow you to tailor the size, compression, and format of your video. Gonogging recommends that you save your videos as either QuickTime .MOV, .WMV, AVI, or .MPG files. These are the most common formats and they work well on GoNogging. We specifically recommend the MPEG4 format at 320x240 pixels with MP3 audio. Resizing your video to these specifications before uploading will help your video look its best.

7. Compress your Video

Nobody wants to sit around and upload their video all night long. The files that your camcorder produces are in a raw format, and not compressed, therefore they are MUCH larger than a normal video file. Usually, most video editing programs will have a compression feature built in. Check your software or set the video compression while you are producing your video. Compression means that your actual video file will be smaller and thus will take much less time to upload. The quality of your video will not be affected. Your final video file must be no more than 25 megabytes (25MBs).

8. Upload your video

Log on to your GoNogging account and press the upload video button. You will be asked to provide some detailed information about your video (which will help your audience find your video) then select your video and click the submit button.

Request Markets

Wouldn’t you like an opportunity to actually request digital content completely customized to your specifications?

GoNogging allows you to request specific, custom digital content for Video, Audio and Imagery from other Users and Content Producers.

If you need custom digital content and you want to save time and possibly money or if you are interested in learning something new or need information about a specific subject, a rare craft or hobby or what ever else you can think of and you can’t seem to find it anywhere else you can ask for it by posting a request on GoNogging and offer any dollar amount above $2 to see it.

The more money you contribute the better your chances of enticing someone to answer your request. Other Users can participate in the request you created and help further entice a Content Producer by adding money to the request pool.

Funds are returned to Users and Contributors if requests are not met less the GoNogging fees.

Request Creators are offered four distinct request models including a collaborative method to harness the buying power of like-minded individuals with the same interests. These models include: Public, Private, Group or Charity

Public Request – Other users can contribute money and join a user Request. All contributors can view the final content (Video, Audio or Imagery).

Private Request – Only one user contributes to the Request and only that user has access to the final submitted content.

Group Request – Users invite friends to create a personalized Group Request. Only members of the group can contribute funds and have access to the final submitted content.

Charitable Request – Other users can contribute money and join the Request. Only contributors have access to all final content submitted. 80% of all contributions to this Request ultimately go the users chosen charity and 20% will go to the content producer.

Sell Markets

Finally with GoNogging Content Producers can deal directly with Content Consumers/Buyers. GoNogging allows Producers to sell their wares and choose from three distinct options to offer buyers. No longer will Content Producers need a distributor or a middleman. GoNogging provides a space where you can have trusted communication between you and a buyer. No longer will Content Producers have nowhere to go to promote themselves and sell their digital content. Sell it on GoNogging.

If you have a unique photo you think someone would like you can sell it on GoNogging. If you have music you create and you want to reach a larger audience and earn money from your talent you can offer it on GoNogging. If you have captured a special event with your video camera maybe some one on GoNogging wants to buy it. Post your unique digital content and start earning money. A few ways you can set up your own personal market include Free-Will Pricing, Collaborative Reserve Pricing and Highest Bid.

Free-Will Pricing – Content producers offer their content for sale for a set period of time. Users review the content and can pay whatever they believe the content is worth to them. At the conclusion of the market all contributors have access and can download the content.

Collaborative Reserve Pricing – Content producers offer their content for a set time and with a specific total dollar goal. Users review the content and can pay whatever price they think that content is worth to them. At the conclusion of the market, if the total dollar goal is met or exceeded then all paying users will have access to download the content.

Highest Bid – Similar to Collaborative Reserve Pricing except that the seller can require a minimum bid and also set a maximum amount of buyers. For example, if the minimum bid for an image is set to $5 and the maximum amount of buyers is 3, the item will go to the top 3 bidders who bid at least $5 at the end of the market.  Buyers review the content offered for sale and then pay what they believe the content is worth to them. If the buyer has not contributed a sufficient amount to be included in the predefined limit of buyers then that buyer may increase their bid in order to remain within the predefined limit of buyers. At the conclusion of the market, all buyers that have contributed sufficient funds to be included in the predefined limit of buyers will have access to download the offered content.

SCENARIOS

(This section gives some examples of people who might use GoNogging)

 1.    Bill Johnson: 34 years old Advertising Jr. Executive
Problem: Bill has 15 days to come up with an inexpensive jingle for a new product launch. The traditional jingle writers take too long and cost too much.
Solution: Bill creates a request on GoNogging.com and specifies exactly what he is looking for, providing all of the necessary information he feels is important to create a targeted “catchy” jingle for the product. He deposits only 3/4 of the Dollars he has budgeted.
Within 10 days Bill has 14 different jingles to choose from, supplied by both amateur and professional jingle writers. Bill selects the jingle he thinks is best and GoNogging automatically transfers the funds to the winning jingle writers account.

2.    Samantha Sang: 52 year old Singer / Songwriter
Problem: Samantha was a popular singer in the mid 1970’s. She hasn’t had a hit in all this time and no longer has a label to distribute her music. Her fan base is still loyal and would really like to purchase and listen to her new work but Samantha is not sure the best way to go about selling her digital music and also introducing it to a new audience of listeners.
Solution: Samantha decides to sell her music on GoNogging. She creates her own sales site and decides to offer her music using “ Free-will-Pricing” just like Nine Inch Nails did for their last album. She broadcasts her new offering through GoNogging and invites her fan base to come and listen to her music. Many decide to buy their favorite songs. Some pay a little , some pay a lot. After 60 days Samantha has collected far more than she would have from traditional distribution methods …and her fans thinks she’s cool for letting them pay what they want. GoNogging manages the downloads and transfers the funds to Samantha's GoNogging account.

3.    Marty Jones: 28 years old – Extreme Sports Enthusiast and Mountain Climber
Problem: Marty’s dad passed away recently from lung cancer. Marty wants to create awareness of this disease and has decided to raise $35,000 for the American Lung Association. He wants to keep his overhead low and broadcast this not only to his network of friends but to as many people as possible.
Solution: Marty posts a request on GoNogging.com asking to see a video of a mountain climber scaling the south face of Mt. McKinley. The requirement is for the climber, when reaching the summit, to hold a sign up that says “Give to the American Lung Association”. Marty contributes the first $100 to see this and asks others to contribute to the cause by joining the request pool with a minimum contribution of $50. Many others are interested in donating to the cause and contribute to the request.
Within 30 days, the first climber has made it to the summit of the South Slope and videos himself holding up the sign. The climber uploaded the video onto GoNogging and all that contributed get to see it. 80% of the money collected is distributed to the charity and 20% goes to the climber.

4.    Johnny Blaze: 16 year old Parkour/Free Running Athlete
Problem: Johnny and his friends are totally “into” parkour, but there is no one around to teach them the latest moves. All they really need is a detailed video showing them the latest and greatest. They have searched the web, YouTube and other places but can’t find anything.
Solution: Johnny hears about GoNogging and he and his friends decide to try it out. Johnny creates a detailed Request and posts it to GoNogging with a $10 deposit. Each of his buddies joins the request and put in $10 too. Turns out there are some other kids around the country that have been looking for the same type of video. They all join the request and deposit whatever they can. Suddenly the request pool is up to $2000! A Parkour master hears about the request and decides to make the video. A few others create videos hoping to win the request pool. Johnny and all the contributors review the videos and choose the best one to download and GoNogging transfers the $$ to the winner account.

5.    Jason Jacobs and Janine Eubanks – 16 years old – Students at Irving High School
Problem: Jason and Janine are preparing for the Irving High Senior Talent Show. They want to do something that know else will think of. They came up with an idea of a performance art piece that will be both funny yet off beat. They want to use the song ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit” and do a choreographed dance to it. Except they want a version of the song played with a Harmonica and a Wurlitzer only. No lyrics only the music. They have asked around school yet no one seems to play either of those instruments well enough to adapt the song
Solution: They post a request on GoNogging specifying a version of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” but played only with a “C” Harmonica and a Wurlitzer. They figure it is worth $20 bucks a piece so they deposit that in the request. It just so happened that Jack Bellows age 27 from Zurich, Switzerland who plays both the Harmonica and Organ and owns a Wurlitzer was scouring through the GoNogging audio page seeing if there was any gigs for him as he was needing some spare cash. He stumbled upon Jason And Janine’s request and quickly created digital recording of his version of the song played with the instruments requested. He uploaded it onto GoNogging and Jason and Janine loved it. GoNogging deposited the cash in Jacks GoNogging account and Jason and Janine downloaded the content.

Rules and Regs

When you post a request or post digital content for sale you can choose from several time frames. Whatever the amount of time you choose to keep your posting up GoNogging will do the following when it expires:

1.    If no one responds to your ad you can renew for an additional set time

2.    Renew your demand and try adding more dollars. (By adding a few more dollars it may help to entice another user to create the content you are looking for).

3.          Allow your request or sale posting to expire and get your money back minus a 5% service fee plus 2.5% transaction fee.

1. A user posts a request for specific custom digital content they are interested in and contributes no less than $2 to encourage other user/producer to create the video.

2. A user chooses the type of Request market they. Private, Public, Group, Charitable and gives detailed information about their request.

3. The post remains on GoNogging for the amount of time you have chosen.

4. A user/producer reviews postings on GoNogging and creates content  for the specific post.

5. Only users who have created or contributed to a request can access the digital content submitted and associated with that request.

6. A Request Creator who has chosen a Public request understands that other users can contribute to the same request. The Request Creator and the other users who have contributed must rate any submitted content for that request.

7. The Request Creator and any other users who have contributed rate the submitted content from 1 to 10 or not applicable.

8. The majority of users will choose the best submitted content. Any Contributor (including the Request Creator) that does not agree that the submitted content(s) meets the specifications of the request can give a rating of “0”. However, the majority of contributors will have the final determination of the chosen content.

9. A "0" rating means that the content did not meet the specifications of the request or was completely off subject and will  have the lowest possible rating and automatically be out of contention for collecting the request pool.

10. If there are multiple responses to a request then the Request Creator and Contributors that have created and contributed to the request will rate the content from zero to ten. The content with the highest cumulative rating will receive 90% of the funds pooled. The content with the second highest cumulative rating will receive 10%.

11. If a Request Creator chooses a Private Request then the same rules to the majority apply even though there is only one contributor.

12. GoNogging retains a 7.5% service fee on all completed transactions.

13. GoNogging does not allow the sale of unauthorized or re-purposed digital content. A user can only post digital content on GoNogging.

14. A content producer must be responsible for all the proper release contracts and obligations and have the permission of any and all participating subjects according to the digital content they are offering.

15. Once a request is met or a sale of digital content is complete including Audio, Video and Imagery on GoNogging the requester or buyer retains all usage rights to that content unless otherwise stated prior to sale. Producers retain all copyrights to their digital content when applicable.

16. GoNogging offers no royalty fees for submitted or sold digital content.
